Overview

Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties has a full-time opportunity for a Primary Care Physician with interest in sexual and reproductive health. Our patient population consists of underserved women and gender diverse individuals aged 19-55. We are Melody Health—Primary Care from Planned Parenthood.

100% Outpatient Adult Practice:

  • Full time clinical position

Qualifications

Licensure and/or Certification Requirements:

  • Current California MD or DO Medical License
  • DEA Registration
  • Current Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Current ACLS certification

 Minimum Education:

  • Graduate from accredited school of medicine
  • Completion of a residency program in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

Responsibilities

Essential Functions: 

  • Provide high quality primary care in accordance with agency protocols and evidence-based standards of care.
  • Perform physical examinations, review medical history, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Provide family planning services, including initiation and management of all contraceptive methods
  • Provide options counseling and abortion referral.
  • Provide medication abortion services.
  • Educate and counsel patients on sexual and reproductive health issues.
  • Provide direct supervision to advanced practice clinicians within the scope of medical expertise and California state law. This includes providing medical consultation to clinicians regarding the management of specific patients.
  • Document patient data accurately and completely in the medical record.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Medical Director and/or Associate Medical Director.
