    Responsibilities

    The Medical Informatics Specialist is responsible for ensuring the provision of quality customer-focused medical care to patients of PPOSBC through the development and improvement of functionality within the PPOSBC electronic medical record (EMR), including the clinical note as well as practice management and revenue cycle functionality. As part of a larger team, this role functions as the key resource to ensure that the EMR systems are developed and changed with a systematic approach, utilizing current advances in both the EMR functionality and the clinical medicine, and ultimately facilitating the efficient usage of medical record system.

    Qualifications

    • Formal clinical informatics training and certification preferred, but not required.
    • Current California license of, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Midwife or Medical Doctor with reproductive health/primary care specialty with at least 3 years of experience in clinical practice.
    • Furnishing license, as applicable to NP
    • Experienced user of at least one EMR system; use of multiple systems preferred.
    • Experience in a clinical training role strongly preferred.
    • Possess excellent clinical skills and advanced knowledge of reproductive health issues.
    • 3 – 5 years of EMR system use (e-clinical works preferred)
    • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, clinical IT experience, including significant and successful clinical project management. 
    • CPR certification required.
