PPOSBC is looking for a Director of Clinical Services who will be responsible for ensuring the provision of quality customer-focused medical care to patients of PPOSBC through the supervision of clinician training, development, and review of affiliate medical protocols, and participation in quality improvement and new clinical program roll-outs. The Director of Clinical Services reports to the Medical Director, and works under the direction of the Medical Director and Chief Operations Officer to plan, implement, and evaluate the successful delivery of medical services by advanced practice clinicians and registered nurses. The position will serve as the liaison between clinical staff and administration, and represents the perspective of the clinicians in administrative meetings while carrying the administrative direction out in the health centers


  • Provide clinical services: Perform physical and gynecological examinations for female patients including review of medical history, screening for abnormalities, and performance and interpretation and/or ordering of laboratory tests. Provide abortion care. Participate in a team approach to patient care, and deliver care in a professional, confidential, and expeditious manner.  Meet productivity goals of the center.
  • In consultation with the Medical Director, oversee the orientation and training process for PPOSBC clinicians, overseeing the training related tasks carried out by the lead clinicians who perform training and occasionally directly providing training to individual clinicians or groups of clinicians.
  • Develop and manage training programs and materials.
  • Be skilled in conducting presentations to large groups of clinicians.
  • Participate in new clinical program development and roll-outs. On highly clinical project, serve as the primary lead for program roll out.
  • Obtain input and understanding of role of licensed staff, and support and represent this perspective in administrative projects.
  • Clearly understand and support administrative direction, and carry out the vision and decisions of upper management in the centers such that staff gain understanding and buy-in into changes to practice.
  • Oversee components of quality management process and communicate findings to clinical staff.
  • Be adaptive to change and flexible in his or her approach to challenging clinical or administrative situations. Possess the ability to organize, multi-task, and effectively function in a fast paced environment.
  • Be able to work with staff across multiple health center locations.
  • Write clear communications, reports, and procedural instructions.
  • Possess the ability to  prioritize and complete multiple projects in a timely manner and be able to set short and long term goals.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Medical Director and/or COO.
  • May be deployed to other sites in case of low volume or provider need including San Bernardino County locations.


  • Current California clinician’s license and CPR certification.
  • Nurse Practitioner, Physician  Assistant or Certified Nurse Midwife with reproductive health/primary care specialty with at least 7 years of experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of management or leadership experience.
  • Experience in quality management.
  • Experience in a clinical training role strongly preferred.
  • Possess excellent clinical skills and advanced knowledge of reproductive health issues.
